Abstract

One of the vital parameters is the respiration rate (RR). RR actually refers to the observed respiration time in one minute. By measuring RR, any danger in the body system can be detected because RR is one of the vital signs. If the RR level is less than a certain limit, it can indicate a decrease in consciousness. Because manual counting is so error-prone, a variety of methods are used to estimate respiration rate (RR). Most of these methods have cumbersome and expensive devices. Respiratory rate (RR) estimation is automatically controlled by electronic monitors such as vital signs monitors. Automatic monitoring has many advantages, for example, they can predict cardiac arrest. Therefore, they can be used in the intensive care unit (ICU) of hospitals.
